He has taken AAI to be the lead agency council with every single major insurance carrier within the U.S. With Rick continually recruiting new agents and establishing key insurance carrier relationships, AAI has been able to produce over 60 million in premium volume over ten years while the business continues to expand.

Before this formidable successes with AAI, Rick began his career in 1998 with American Family Insurance providing home, auto, and commercial policies. This gives Rick almost two decades of industry expertise. During his time with American Family his agency had written 1.8 million in Premium volume in just five years. This success led to multiple regional and national awards while Rick himself consistently ranked as one of the top 100 agents.

Through his ingenuity and innovative skills, Rick began to focus on getting clients their insurance products faster and more efficiently. He spearheaded an approach that used original software to streamline the process that was previously clumsy and slower than necessary. The results were beyond expectations, leading to grand volume increases and full agency expansion.

Having Lisa as our Chief Underwriting Officer gives The Cannabis Insurance Company a far-reaching competitive advantage. She is a platinum award-winning insurance saleswoman leading her to director positions for not only The Cannabis Insurance Company, but originally for the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Colorado (PIIAC). In her director role with PIIAC she launched the development and growth of the Pinnacol Assurance Workers’ Compensation Program. While there, with the help of her team, she more than doubled the premium sales from six to twelve million dollars in less than four years.

Not just her sales, or intrapersonal team-leader skills, but her top-tier underwriting proficiency also led her to generate a ten fold premium increase from six to sixty million dollars over just eight years at Managing General Agency (MGA), which served the outdoor recreational industry.

Other sectors within the industry, like Errors & Omissions insurance for independent insurance agents across Colorado, solicited her sales and underwriting mastery to bolster their success. Not just them, but many national insurance carriers as well including: Travelers, CNA, Philadelphia Insurance, and several regional agencies and organizations sought out her expertise. Her abilities strengthened every agency she lent her skill set to, leaving her with a trail of prosperous businesses.

In addition to her sales and underwriting prowess, Lisa is the former Operations Manager for the FUSA Insurance Agency, an agency worth over $130 million. While there, Lisa oversaw the internal underwriting staff and 86 branch agencies across the U. S. She brings her industry brilliance with her strengths of: leadership, drive, creativity, building sales and underwriting teams, as well as a personal passion for the industry.

When not working hard on a project, Lisa enjoys Colorado with her love of mountain climbing and trail running. She brings along her incredible nine-year old twins whenever she can!

Gerry brings an incredible history in growing and developing companies in the B2B and commercial marketplace. He has led several start up companies to tremendous growth and successful exit strategies, including winning the Colorado Companies to watch in 2011.

As a senior executive at DIRECTV overseeing the Commercial Division, he was responsible for the roll out of new products, pricing and marketing. Working with and training more than 2,000 commercial sales and installation partners. The new products resulted in an increase in commercial sales of 26%, over $60 million in new annualized revenue.

His passion for business to business products has brought him to this highly specialized insurance segment. “Protecting the Industry and the People in It” of our Cannabis clients, partners and investors in this complex business is his driving goal.

He has a passion for sports, coaches high school football and is a fun but less than the average golfer. Gerry (pronounced Garry, it’s a West Texas thing) is lucky to have a great family with two tremendous high school and college aged boys.
